Windham Fabrics and The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center introduce the second "American Woman's Home™" collection
JERSEY CITY, NJ. - As a result of the ovewhelming success of the first American Woman's Home fabric collection introduced in conjunction with the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center of Hartford, CT., Windham Fabrics introduces the American Woman's Home Collection II™.
These 19th Century prints are inspired by artifacts and textiles from the personal collection of historical figure Harriet Beecher Stowe. Working closely with The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center to preserve the integrity of the patterns and colorations, Windham Fabrics has reproduced this second collection of fabrics with designs authentic to the time period. The soft florals, pretty scroll designs, and tone-on-tone patterns allow for a timeless elegance that translates into beautiful quilt, craft and home dec projects.
Although best known for her anti-slavery novel, Uncle Tom's Cabin, which made her an international icon for social justice, Stowe was also a painter, gardener, and homemaker, and also authored The American Woman's Home. This book presented an imaginative and holistic approach to domestic life and design that has proved to be remarkably contemporary.
You can experience the full story by visiting Stowe's Victorian home and gardens at 77 Forest St.,Hartford, CT. or visit www.HarrietBeecherStowe.org. To see the complete collection, visit www.windhamfabrics.com
